hi,

to open and run pacifist you will need to use the terminal. once downloaded, cd to where you have downloaded it and type:

open Pacifist_1.6.3.dmg

this will mount it, though if your problem is the same as mine you still won't see the icon on the desktop. Then again using the terminal you run it from the mounted volume like so:

/Volumes/Pacifist\ 1.6.3.dmg/Pacifist/Pacifist.app/Contents/MacOS/Pacifist &

Thank's you all of you for this information.

I still have the problem.
I have ibook g4 ..and when I put the update for ITunes and Quicktime a lost the Finder.

If I open the terminal I can open the finder Like Petro says but, then ? How can I Resolve the problem ?
The preferences ??

Anyone know what to do ?

I try deleting the finder preferences...but didn't work.

com,apple.finder.plist has a nasty habit of recreating itself before you can make having deleted it stick.
