I have a new powerbook G4 (not the intel one mind) and have just started playing the Sims 2. The processor is 1.5 ghz and the graphics card is 128mb 1.5 gig of RAM too. More than enough to cope with such a game I would have thought, but once my house begins to fill up with tables, kids etc, it really struggles, which I just can't understand on a machine of this spec...
Is there any chance OSX or something is diverting computing power away from 3D perofrmance? Is there a system configuration menu or something I can play with? I don't want to shell out for more hardware, after all.
Cheers

try playing around the the preferences of Sims 2, the default settings might be a bit high.

I don't have the game, so I can't tell you settings to use and such, but they should be there
