From another thread am also having similiar problem getting 'playlist not recognised' error.

Have done all of the above and nada.

Powerbook G4, 1.67 gig, 10.4.9

I had the same problem but I was able to put together the following:
Install the correct Flash Player

AND

Remove (move) the quicktime plugins from:
HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins

That worked for me!

PS: you will need to quit and restart your browser!

Oops! I found a better solution.

Goto system preferences... select Quicktime... select Advanced... select MIME Settings... Find the corresponding file type that quicktime is trying to take over and uncheck it. In my case it was Flash Media which can be found under Misc. (click on triangle to expand detail)

I found it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First thanks for all suggestions however non worked.

I removed the Windows media player folder from applications. I removed the prefereces for WMV. Last but not least in library/internet plugins remove thw windows media player plugin! Put all in trash, emptied, logged out and voila!

Is that /Users/yourShortName/Library/Internet Plug-ins in your home folder or /Library/Internet Plug-ins at the root of the boot drive? If it is the former that would not be unusual and neither would it be unusual to have plug-ins in both folders. If there are no plug-ins in the latter that is a bit unusual.
