Running PShop CS Version 8.0. on my MacBook Pro 2.33 with 2GB ram. Recently (in the last couple weeks) PShop has been crashing on every third save. Any save whether its a small .JPG or a 500MB .PSD Already tried reverting my Multiprocessor support to the 2004 update from adobe but to no avail. Any other ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Gonna try re-install of PShop CS to see if that does it.

i have exactly the same issue. CS 1 on MacBookPro with Intel. program unexpectedly quit after 3rd save.
i suspect the problem started right after the 10.4.11 update, but i am not sure.
looking for a solution! anyone?

Same issue here on a MacBook with Photoshop CS (8.0). Also seems to have started around the time of the last update... would be happy to hear of any success in patching or working around this issue.

So far, we've been using "save as", or else restarting Photoshop after a successful save to workaround the issue -- not very satisfactory solutions, but they keep from losing work.

Might be an Intel plugin or maintenance issue. I could not duplicate this behavior on a PPC [2.3 GHz DP G5, 1 GB RAM, OS 10.4.11, Photoshop CS version 8.0 (8.0x119)] with 5 consecutive saves of the same file after minor retouching between saves. Have you tried opening it using another admin account? How about running some maintenance program like Onyx or DiskWarrior?
Otherwise, the Multiprocessor update you are referring to only works and is recommended for multiprocessor computers. Fortunately, it is a plugin stored in Adobe Photoshop CS>Plug-Ins>Extensions folder. I have it (PPC version) and there are no problems. You might like to drag yours to desktop and see if it changes the save functionality. If the action is restored and there no other adverse effects just trash it. Adobe actually recommends to save a copy of the old plugin before applying the update. You could also try reapplying the update. Please post back with your progress.

IMac G5 Intel OS 10.4.11 -- Same thing has happened to me. I went into Photoshop CS 8.0/plug-ins/extensions and placed the MultiProcessor Support on desktop. Tried again to copy/paste, etc. but Photoshop quit again. Checked to see which update had been installed last. It was "Security Update 2007-009 (Universal)" (1.1) Before this update was installed I had no problems with Photoshop. Could this be the problem? Anyone? Anyone?

I am having the same problem, too! Has anyone come up with an answer on how to troubleshoot this? I am working with Photoshop CS on an Intel system 10.4.11 also. I have not added anything new to the computer (software or peripherals) and this problem occurred "out of the blue". Can anyone help?

i am having the same problem as well. Just started a couple of days ago, probably after an update. it does not happen on my admin account; only on my normal one. Every third save...

SERIOUSLY? is NO ONE else having this issue? I still cannot solve it. I have tried the suggestions about dumping preferences. I have the same Intel MBP running CS. HELP!
