I notice that the OS 10.5.6 update just released claims to have fixed this problem altogether.

Hi, first my english is not so good - sorry smile Second. i got the same problem and can't fix it frown

After reading all this thread im paste here some results for Hal Itosis commands:

As you see i don't have en0 devices and that's way my Time Machine can't work and msg me that device could not be found frown

Btw. im use External WD 250gb USB HDD (with one HFS+ partition)

Please help me to get my TM work.

PS. my mobo is Asus A8n-e + AMD processor, i got integrated LAN card but it disabled in BIOS, i'm use PCI Lan card

You have a PC with a fancy motherboard?
How could that ever work with Time Machine?
Are you running Mac OS Leopard in emulation somehow?

[anyway, as you mentioned: "no en0" -- so that stumps me right there.]

You are running on an unsupported hardware platform and in violation of Apple's Software License Agreement which limits OS X to use on a single Apple branded computer. Your odds of ever getting Time Machine to work are somewhere between slim and non-existent and since this is an illegal installation, this topic cannot be discussed further on the MacFixit forums.
