Yes, there is a special order, and a setting that wouldn't have transferred.
The printer has to be powered up before the AsanteTalk. When the AsanteTalk powers up, it polls its connections for printers. If the printer isn't powered up, it won't see it.
Beforehand though, you need to turn on AppleTalk. By default, it'll be turned off. AppleTalk has to be active for the printer to be seen.
You may have to re-install the printer as opposed to using any transferred settings. If you follow the power up sequence and AppleTalk is active, you should see the printer as an available choice when you do the add a printer routine.
Note: Snow Leopard may not continue AppleTalk support. This could be problem for you and me in the future. I have a HP-4MP used with an AsanteTalk.
