I've been using Stickies since OS 8, now I'm on OS 10.4.11 and never realized this was possible.
I often paste web addresses into a note and then later if needed would have to Copy/Paste it back to the browser. All of a sudden today the address I pasted into a note became an active clickable link. I can not do it again on purpose. Sometimes it works sometimes not.

What did I do and how do I do it on purpose?

I think it works like this: if you copy a URL using command-C, or the Copy command from an application's Edit menu, or by choosing Copy from the contextual menu that appears if you control-click or right-click on the highlighted text, then the pasted URL in Stickies is non-clickable.

If you control-click or right-click on a URL that itself is already a clickable link, the contextual menu is different: it includes a Copy Link command (that's in Safari; similar options exist in other applications), and if you choose that command and then paste the URL into Stickies, the resulting text is a clickable link.

Hey dk that does indeed work...and after all these years!
Still have no idea why this started today-all on it's own. Oh well

Thanks
