I'm having a really hard time getting my Blu-Ray Drive working on Mac Pro. I bought the drive from MCE Technologies and it's supposed to be an internal drive that fits into the extra optical Drive Bay (They advise me to place the drive in the top slot as the Master drive).

Here's the spec of the drive:

MATSHITA BD-MLT SW-5584:

Firmware Revision: 1.00
Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Generic Drive Support)
Profile Path: None
Cache: 8192 KB
Reads DVD: Yes
CD-Write: -R, -RW
DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RAM, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
BD-Write: -R, -RE
Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
Media: Insert media and refresh to show available burn speeds

All I get when I place any disk (I've tried various; DVD-R, BD-R & BD-RW) the Mac will eject the disk with the following message:

"The Operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items."

Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.
I've contacted Apple where they got me to re-install the system, delete preferences and then start a completely new user, which didn't help - at all.
I've been in contact with MCE Technologies where they have really annoyed me by promising to send a new drive, about 2-7 weeks ago! I don't think they want to know - SO A WORD OF WARNING TO ANYONE WHO'S THINKING OF BUYING ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

Thanks

A belated welcome to these Forums, Siabs! laugh I'm afraid we may not be able to offer a solution for your problem in time before these forums close down. See the message at the top of the forums main page or The Lounge for more details about that and this thread for a possible alternative.
