Hi,

I have some HK Soundsticks I and they are not working with Tiger. Whenever I plug them into either my desktop G4 or Powerbook G4 (both running the latest updated version of Tiger) no audio comes out of them - even though the sound is muted from the internal speakers when I plug them in. The soundsticks come up in sys prefs/Audio and I have tried toggling the sound outputs from internal speakers to the sticks, restarting and making sure all of the volume sliders are up and mutes are off.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my speakers to make noise? !!

Thanks

Simon

OK. I have the same setup. Lets see if I can help. Start by opening Audio Midi Setup, it's in the Utilities folder. In the Audio Midi setup window, Audio Devices, select SoundSticks as default output. Select SoundSticks in "Properties For" button. Audio Output format should be 44100.0 Hz 2 ch-16 bit. Move the volume sliders to the middle position. Click on configure speakers. Click on left front and right front. Any sound output? Click apply and done.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply! I tried what you suggested and did not hear anything through my sound sticks! It's funny cos the mac defo recognises them as being there - but there's no sound!

Do you have any more suggestions?

Cheers,

si

Do you have GarageBand installed?

Don't know if it is still relevant but back in 10.3 people were reporting your problem of no sound through SoundSticks. The fix was to open GarageBand and change the Audio Midi Driver in preferences to SoundSticks. If this doesn't help then I'm out of ideas. The blue light on the sub woofer is on right? When you play a song in iTunes you get no sound? Tell us how you have the SoundSticks connected.

Hi,

I changed the drivers in Garage Band which made no difference. Woofer blue light's on and still no sound with iTunes!

Cheers for you help though!

Baffling. Do you know if they work at all? Since you have tried them on two computers without success I would start to suspect them. The inline amplifier/power supply box may be blown. Sorry for lack of help.
