I have hundreds of the following console messages in my log:

11/8/07 7:26:23 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.InternetSharing) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
11/8/07 7:26:33 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.InternetSharing410) Exited with exit code: 1

The problem appears to have started with the Leopard upgrade. My MBP also appears a bit sluggish. The messages are produced every 10 seconds and nothing I try seems to stop them from occurring. This includes trying "sudo update_prebinding -force -root /", shutting down and restarting (which was suggested as a solution to a similar problem).

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? TIA.

Do you have (or even want to have) Internet Sharing on?

System Preferences --> Sharing [x] Internet Sharing

Turn off anything there you're not actually using.

-HI-

FWIW: it has something to do with the file
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.InternetSharing.plist
and the fact that the "KeepAlive" key is true.
Something is making it crash... and launchd
is sick and tired of restarting it every second.

Thanks Hal! Disabling internet sharing seems to have solved the problem. I don't recall enabling internet sharing so I am at a loss as to why it was enabled in the first place. I did update Parallels to beta build 5540 though, so perhaps it was changed as a result of that process, but I am not sure. I am at a further loss at what was causing the daemon to crash. Go figure ...
